Le Calvaire

Two accesses are possible for this sector, located in the neighborhood of the town of Fontainebleau. It is possible to park at the bottom of the Route de la Reine Amélie and to follow this road to the Croix du Calvaire under which the climbing problems can be found (this is the logical way from the railway station of Fontainebleau-Avon). Another possibility is to use a small parking lot at the crossing of ND de Bon Secours, to follow the blue path and to traverse to the right at the top of the slope. Notice that climbing at Le Calvaire is very particular, since it takes place not really on boulders, but on a sort of "rempart". There is only one circuit, most of the remaining problems being located in a big overhang, which allows to climb under showers.
Update (January 2008) : climbing the overhang has become very dangerous, due to erosion!
