Cuvier : orange AD+ (no 3)

Area description

This very popular and accessible area is situated alongside the N7 (the road between Fontainebleau and Barbizon), 1 kilometer away from (the bivouac of) Barbizon. Park at the big parking lots of the Carrefour de l'Épine, available at both sides of the road. A pedestrian tunnel is available to get you to the other side of the road, if you are coming from Barbizon; you can't make a U-turn on the road here. The first boulders are already visible from the road.

Circuit description
Due to the popularity of the area and the proximity of the former bivouac near Barbizon, this easiest circuit of Bas Cuvier developed by Patrick Krier is very slippery. Therefore, the difficulty is higher than the average orange circuit (not to mention it was originally a yellow circuit). Not recommended for beginners, unless you want to scare them away from bouldering... The start of the circuit is on the "Place du Cuvier": follow the Sentier Denecourt (Sentier Bleu n°5) from the parking lot for about 50 meters, to follow subsequently the Route du Sanglier when the SB n°5 makes a sharp turn to the right. The "Place du Cuvier" is situated shortly after that junction.
