Val di Mello threatened posted by Adwin ~ 20.09.2006 11:30

Normally this site is about Font, but in this case we make an exception, as the beautiful Italian Val di Mello (well known among climbers and boulderers, also because of MelloBlocco) is threatened. Plans to close and tap the whole creek and river system of the valley in order to produce electricity are on the verge of execution. As the English explanation describes, this will lead to major dehydration of the area and irriversible damage of the landscape. Please sign the petition on the Val di Mello website to stop this from happening!
