The famous boulder in the sand see of Cul de Chien has become very dangerous, due to the formation of a crack at the pedestal. The erosion commission asks to definitely avoid to climb on this boulder since the risks of topple-over are real. (3 responses)
The famous guidebook 7+8 is now sold out, but this spring, Bart van Raaij will publish the new guidebook: 5+6 Straight ups in Central and Southern Fontainebleau. In this first volume, 4000 problems graded 5- to 6c+ in the areas of Central and Southern Fontainebleau will be described. An iPhone application is already available (see our forum for more details). Georges Tsao has repainted the famous salmon circuit at Apremontwith the help of Jacky Guinot and Bernard Commiot. The numbers of the circuit have not been changed but many connection variants have been added. About 20 persons from the clubs of GUMS, CAF RSF, SPUC, CAF Fontainebleau and CIHM have brushed the boulders and participated to the work.
The orange circuit n°3 has also been repainted by Jacky Guinot and the chain for downclimbing the big boulder of salmon n°56 and orange n°3 has been changed by Georges and Léo Drevet. (2 responses)
Échappées Belles is a well-known broadcast on France 5, which proposes destinations that are often exotic. The one of Saturdy 11th June takes place in the Île-de-France region and a (small) part of the reportage is dedicated to climbing at Font. If you visit the boulders at this period, think of watching the TV at 20h35, or the repeat Sunday 12th at 10h25. (2 responses)
"La quête du mouvement extrême" (the quest for the extreme move) is the title of the interview of Sébastien Frigault in the last issue of the French magazine "Grimper". In this article, Seb comments his years of high level bouldering and comments the evolution of ethics in this activity. (1 response)
The parking lot of Le Guichet (Coquibus) has recently been closed. The official reason is the lack of payment of the subvention for the maintenance by the Essonne department. Climbers are not so much concerned since only few boulders have been brushed in this sector, by the place is very frequented by walkers, who can be tempted to park their car along the road. For more details, see La Tribune libre de Bleau. (7 responses)

(7 responses)
Pascal Etienne has noticed that the arrows on the boulders of Les Cent Marches (near La Padôle) have been tagged. This is probably due to adepts of trial bike wishing to reconquer that part of the forest. The circuits will be repainted by the FSGT club of Sainte Geneviève des Bois. In the meanwhile, the topos have been put on the page of La Padôle on the Cosiroc website.

This is the title of a new chronicle of comics about Bleau, that you can find on the blog Bleau y es-tu. The authors of the CHLAPAK team (Alain, Julien and Nathalie) have chosen fun and respect of the environment rather than performance in their comics, as well as in their clothes collection that is presented on their Chlapak homepage.
We wish you a very good year for 2011! We hope that all your climbing (or non climbing) projects will carry out, thanks to a good health and motivation. Indeed, health and motivation can compensate bad weather conditions, as Paul Robinson has shown us during an outstanding week on the most difficult boulders of the forest!
The climbing club Vertical + of Dammarie-lès-lys and the instructor Guillaume Giraud have had the great idea of creating a climbing section for handicapped persons. All practical information can be found on our forum. (3 responses)
